“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
Lidan Ou has dedicated more than 20 years to early childhood education. As both an educator and a mother, she believes that the most important foundation for learning is a relationship built on trust, respect, and genuine care.
Her philosophy is simple: every child is different, and every child deserves to be seen, understood, and valued. Rather than asking children to fit into one mold, she believes educators should take the time to understand who each child is and guide them toward becoming the best version of themselves.
Lidan holds a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a California Site Supervisor Permit. She remains actively engaged in professional learning and the early childhood education community at both the state and national levels.
For Lidan, Little Star has always been more than a school. It is a community built around children and families—a place where children can feel loved and secure, parents can feel heard and supported, and teachers and families can grow together.
